MOTOR CITY MUSIC

Detroit Entertainment and Sports, LLC (DE&S) was established in 1997 with the vision of downtown Detroit becoming an entertainment Mecca.  DE&S served the inner city community for over ten years; developing city, state and three time National Boxing Champions.  Our organization priorities scholastic endeavors over athletic pursuits.

Our company has successfully produced boxing events, stage plays and music concerts.  We currently produce a weekly Comcast 90 television show "Motor City Music" which shares the untold stories of Detroit music artist and athletics; with a viewership capacity reaching over two hundred thousand households in the Detroit and metro areas.

 

Also, our company proprietor has over thirty years experience working with some of the major names and companies from Hollywood to New York in the entertainment industry; design, promotion and marketing of company merchandise.

ANDREA DARNELL

The brand belongs to Andrea Darnell based in Detroit.  Her natural talents at a young age were graphic art and rhythm guitar.  She is a native Detroiter and possesses a Bachelor of Art degree in Criminology from Eastern Michigan University.

After, completing college and as *fate would have it's way, of redirecting her life course; she was off to New York.
​
As a New Yorker she worked for Allen Rosenthals Law Firm as a Law Clerk by day and had the privilege in the evenings to work at the renowned Actors Studio for film actress Ellen Burstyn and study acting with broadway stage actor Earle Hyman.  Also, had the pleasure of studying under Bobbie Chance Studios in Los Angeles, CA.

Ms. Darnell relocated to Los Angeles California and worked for Bateman, Eichler and Hill Richards Stock Exchange as a Legal Records Specialist.  Later, her dream job opportunity came to fruition working for the renowned Motown Record Company; she became a SAG/AFTRA  member through working in plays, movies and modeling. 
​
During the time she worked for the record company, her natural graphic arts talents were reignited, eventually opening the door for her to establish Controversy Inc. a promotional and merchandising company.
​
Controversy Inc. in a short span of time became a major supplier to a Who's Who of Hollywood clients, servicing their merchandise and promotional needs.
​
After, eighteen years she returned to her home town of Detroit and the amazing journey continued with the establishing of Detroit Boxing Team an amateur and professional boxing program.
​
The program succeeding in not only getting inner city youth off the streets but developing city, state, regional and 3x national champions.  Also, Ms. Darnell worked as a community activist for the fight against neighborhood blight.
​
Ms. Darnell is currently the proprietor of Detroit Entertainment and Sports, LLC along with Motor City Music, LLC and is forever grateful, for being from a family that always encouraged the entrepreneur "Spirit".  (*car accident 1977)
