Welcome to Detroit Entertainment and Sports, LLC (DE&S), where our journey began 1997 with a bold vision to connect downtown Detroit entertainment to the inner city; with over a decade of commitment to our inner city community, we proudly celebrate the achievements of our amateur and professional boxers; 3XNational Boxing Champions with an priority in higher education. Our diverse portfolio includes successful boxing events, stage plays, music concerts. Also, we broadcasted a weekly Comcast television show, "Motor City Music,"; which shared inspiring stories of Detroit's music artists and athletes to over a million households. With more than thirty years of experience in the entertainment industry, we continue to innovate in marketing and promotion; connecting the inner city of Detroit to downtown.
BIO
ANDREA DARNELL
The brand belongs to Andrea Darnell based in Detroit. Her natural talents at a young age were graphic art and rhythm guitar. She is a native Detroiter and possesses a Bachelor of Art degree in Criminology from Eastern Michigan University. After, completing college and as fate would have a testimony which redirected her life course; she relocated to New York City.
As a New Yorker she worked for Allen Rosenthals Law Firm as a Law Clerk by day and had the privilege in the evenings to work at the renowned Actors Studio for film actress Ellen Burstyn and study acting with broadway stage actor Earle Hyman. Also, had the pleasure of studying under Bobbie Chance Studios in Los Angeles, CA.
Ms. Darnell relocated to Los Angeles California and worked for Bateman, Eichler and Hill Richards Stock Exchange as a Legal Records Specialist. Later, her dream job opportunity came to fruition working for the renowned Motown Record Company; she became a SAG/AFTRA member through working in plays, movies and modeling.
During the time she worked for the record company, her natural graphic arts talents were reignited, eventually opening the door for her to establish Controversy Inc. a promotional and merchandising company.
Controversy Inc. in a short span of time became a major supplier to a Who's Who of Hollywood clients, servicing their merchandise and promotional needs.
After, eighteen years she returned to her home town of Detroit and the amazing journey continued with the establishing of Detroit Boxing Team an amateur and professional boxing program.
The program succeeding in not only getting inner city youth off the streets but developing city, state, regional and 3x national champions. Also, Ms. Darnell worked as a community activist for the fight against neighborhood blight.
Ms. Darnell is currently the proprietor of Detroit Entertainment and Sports, LLC along with Motor City Music, LLC; and forever grateful, for being from a family that always encouraged the entrepreneur "Spirit". (Click: Family Ancestry)
